Overview

Learn how your colleagues are using authentic materials to develop contextualized lessons that integrate academic skills and content with professional skills and career sector content to improve students’ academic and language skills while also opening up new career horizon and ideas.

Description

The lessons and curriculum that Massachusetts practitioners will share during this webinar are the results of the series of Career Focused Basic Skills Curriculum Development workshops, presented by Serge Shea from the College and Careers Pathway Institute at La Guardia Community College.

During the workshops, participants explored a process for creating basic skills curriculum using authentic career sector material and have used it to develop their own lessons and units.
