Four hour face-to-face workshop with three hours of follow-up to help with implementation of the tools and strategies. This orientation supports PSD Facilitators to carry out their roles and responsibilities as outlined in the MA ABE Guidelines including implementing a systematic process at ABE programs to support educator growth and program effectiveness. The five step process includes practitioner self-assessment and self-reflection to determine their PD needs, prioritizing and developing a SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time bound) PD goal, monitoring and supporting practitioners' PD goals and plans for evaluating success in relation to student outcomes. All participants will leave with a PowerPoint presentation to present at their program and with tools for supporting each of the five steps of the process for leading and managing professional learning at their ABE program. Directors and PSD Facilitators are encouraged to attend.
