Overview

This 9-hour modules (5.5 hours face-to-face and 3.5 hours of follow-up support) will help participants lead and manage change at their program. The focus of this module will be on supporting college and career readiness. By participating in this PD activity you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to lead, implement, monitor and evaluate change and innovation that will strengthen your ABE program and help all learners obtain the knowledge and skills for employment and economic self-sufficiency.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Outline a systematic process for introducing and carrying out continuous improvement planning at your program which supports college and career readiness
  • Describe the common types of resistance to change and identify leadership practices to support staff and move change forward
  • Explain how to apply six strategies for leading and managing organizational change when developing and implementing your program's continuous improvement plan
  • Determine how you will use at least two tools/strategies to ensure the successful institutionalization of the change/innovation at your program
