Description

This three-hour training, followed by a three-hour online Community of Practice, looks at issues of student persistence and resilience and how these connect to program improvement. There will be a review of research on persistence and resilience followed by discussion about the ways in which the research relates to and can be applied to ABE programs. Program Directors and leadership teams will create a plan to implement strategies for increasing student persistence. During the online Community of Practice component, directors will share the results of implementing these strategies, discuss the successes and challenges of their actions and make plans for future work on this topic. Snow date is January 28th.
Online Community of Practice for those who attend the face-to-face training will run from February 23 to March 6, 2015. The total time expected during this phase is 3 hours. Note that this section is spread over a two-week period and is done on your own time.
