Overview

This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are selected based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted two weeks before the meeting.

Advisors from across Massachusetts are invited to join this sharing and learning conversation via Zoom.

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Both new and experienced advisors. Instructors who play a role in education and career planning are also welcome to attend to share and learn about best practices and resources
Description

Advisors will have the opportunity to connect with each other, share program updates and opportunities, and support each other with resources and strategies. 

The topic of this meeting will be immigration, and the guest speaker will be John J. McCarthy from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services in Boston. He will present Immigration 101 which provides an overview of the immigration process - who is involved, what is the route, how does immigration (Permanent residency) happen, how are visas involved, how is the Department of State involved, how is USCIS involved. He will also be able to answer any questions that Advisors may have about the immigration process.
