NEW ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Northeast SABES is pleased to announce that we are now part of the newly developed Center for Adult Education Programs and Practitioners (CAEPP) at Northern Essex Community College. Irene Chalek, formerly the Director of the NECC Adult Literacy and Transition Programs, is the new Executive Director of CAEPP and will have administrative oversight of our SABES region
Northeast SABES promotes high quality adult basic education
services in Massachusetts through training, support, and resources that improve
the skills and knowledge of practitioners and strengthen programs. Since its
inception in 1990, Northeast SABES has focused on developing the skills,
knowledge and talents of Adult Basic Education practitioners so that they may
provide exemplary service to adult learners.
Northeast SABES is funded by the Massachusetts
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and is hosted by Northern Essex Community College. NE SABES is part of a statewide staff development system for Adult Basic
Education programs and practitioners.
