Amy Dalsimer, Executive Director of the College and Career Pathways Professional Development Institute at LaGuardia Community College/CUNY is a national expert in comprehensive career pathways and Bridge program design, sector-focused contextualized literacy, integrated career training, and postsecondary readiness initiatives designed to serve low skilled adults and out-of-school youth.  With more than 20 years of experience teaching and leading career-focused high school equivalency, literacy, and career and college transition programs, Ms. Dalsimer was founding director of LaGuardia’s innovative High School Equivalency Bridge to College and Careers Program and has been at the forefront of leading LaGuardia's highly successful NY-BEST Integrated Training Programs.  These comprehensive career pathways models integrates rigorous academic skills development with professional sector content, enabling thousands of low skilled and underemployed young people and adults to advance in a new career track and onto college.  

Under Ms. Dalsimer’s leadership and building on the success of LaGuardia’s evidence-based campus programs, the College and Career Pathways Professional Development Institute has been contracted by more than 30 non-profit, government agencies, and educational organizations in 19 states to provide high-quality professional development to educators, advisors and program leaders seeking to improve pre-college curriculum and programming for out-of-school youth and adult students.  CCPI services include workshops, instructional and leadership coaching, site-based program redesign assistance, online instruction, curriculum development clinics, facilitated online communities of practice, and resource development.   

Ms. Dalsimer has served as a keynote speaker, panelist, and presenter at numerous national conferences and professional development events. Recent presentations include: Designing Career Pathways Programs for Adults and Disconnected Youth Workshop Seriessponsored by the  Boston Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development; Policy Panel: Innovations and Initiatives Shaping Adult Education in 2015 at the National College Transition Network Conference; Back on Track: Supporting Adult, Immigrant and Disconnected Youth To and Through College at theNational College Access Network Conference; Designing Contextualized and Integrated Instruction, Tex-BEST Contextualization Conference; Adult Pathways to Postsecondary Forum  Keynote Speaker, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
