CALCULATING THE FUTURE: MATH, SCIENCE AND GREEN TECHNOLOGY
In the Field Instruction for ABE and ESOL Instructors
Southeast, MA ABE practitioners recently had a wonderful opportunity with SABES SE to be immersed in math, science and green technology content at the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Waquoit, MA. Through a hands-on approach, participants were exposed to virtual and actual representations of fossil fuels impact on land use and coastal systems. They also experienced, first hand, green technology and sustainable energy strategies while understanding the skills their learners must acquire in order to be prepared for green jobs.

A Companion Website
SABES SE has developed this Companion Website to the Waquoit Bay field trip for ABE practitioners who attended the trip ( and those who wish they had ) to extend their learning beyond the Bay and into their classrooms and programs. Ready-to-use resources provided here will help reinforce concepts and key learning objectives of the workshop as well as assist you in implementing the material in alignment with MA DESE Science and Math frameworks and instructional requirements.
