Who We Are
We are a group of adults learning English. We are 16 women and men aged 28 to 75, from Russia, Senegal, Korea, Haiti, Colombia, India and the U.S.A. We have different religious beliefs and nationalities, but we all attend ESL classes at the Community Learning Center in Cambridge.

In our class, we are 15 students. We came from different countries, but we are all human. Even though we do not speak the same mother tongue, we help each other in class. On March 30, the class decided to go to the State House to ask for many things that immigrants need. Before we went to the State House we prepared many questions to ask our representatives. For example, we asked about Welfare Reform, Bilingual Education, the Status of Haitian Immigrants and the Department of Social Services (DSS) procedures.
