Smoking and Your Health

Introduction

The purpose of the Quincy School HELP project smoking curriculum is to raise students awareness of the health hazards of nicotine and smoking. The health content is integrated with practice in English as a Second Language. Most of the students in the smoking workshop were beginning English learners and the material developed for them concentrated on teaching health-related vocabulary and basic grammar used in a health context.

Grammar and Vocabulary

These are some exercises and vocabulary lists based on the handouts and homework that were used in the smoking worshop. The grammar exercises include online quizzes that students can use through a browser.

Vocabulary words: This is a list of medical vocabulary with Chinese translation.
Online grammar exercises: Using "a", "an" and "the" with medical words.
