The Technology Support I provide is varied. I offer phone technical assistance, on-site visits, trainings.

Central SABES has a computer lab [that is my office as well] taking advantage of this we let you come in to preview the software and hardware we have available by appointment

Software Previewing Lab - Software packages are available for previewing in our lab. For the full listing please check the Software Resources.  

• I support the SMARTT (System for Managing Accountability and Results Through Technology) system is the State’s online system for all DOE funded ABE programs in the state.
• I also support Cognos as it relates to SMARTT reporting.
• I came to this job not knowing either of the above applications, SMARTT or Cognos, but I came with experience using and support technology. So this said I also offer technology training as well as support various technology applications.

Here's a list of titles to some of the trainings I provide:

• SMARTT New User trainings are offered a few times through the year based on demand. They are listed at the SABES Calendar. If you are unable to attend one of these trainings please call and we can make other arrangements.
• SMARTT Updates are available to programs that have particular questions or issues using SMARTT. Bring your information with you and work in a place away from all the phones and interruptions.
• Cognos Uodates - Cognos is the reporting component for SMARTT. This 3rd party product allows programs to draw information from the data they have been collecting for SMARTT over the past four years. I provide trainings on using Cognos and developing reports and charts that can be used for program analysis, community planning and program performance. They are listed at http://calendar.sabes.org.
• Electronic List - The Central SABES Regional Technologist manages a statewide electronic list. Membership on the electronic list is open to anyone who has an interest in SMARTT and Technology. To join the electronic list go to http://lists.literacytent.org/mailman/listinfo/centralsmartt . As a member of the list you can look through the archives using a list logon and password.
• Technology Trainings – These trainings are offered throughout the year. Here's a sampling of workshops we've held in the past.

We decide our offerings based on survey results.

• Technology Plans – We have sample plans available and will assist in preparation of the plans for submission to DOE. All funded programs are required to submit Technology plans each year, projecting ahead two years.
