This is a 15-minute film created by Bert Salzman, a filmaker who produced a slew of publicly funded short films on various social justice themes in the 60's and 70's. This one is from 1969. "Joshua tells its simple story in a charmingly lyrical style that suggests but does not force its basic message that confrontations between blacks and whites can be constructive. " I can see a rich discussion of this happening, about it's lessons for today, as well as its place in american cultural history. View/download it for free at the Archive.

This is a borderline fictional autobiography by Gao Xingjian. He is an great writer, taking readers deep into China during the 80's with lyrical, poetic prose.
