The SABES PD Center for Program Support is setting up cohorts for practitioners interested in obtaining the Massachusetts ABE Teacher's License. License-seekers will use this dedicated time to:
- Prepare to pass two Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (Communications and Literacy Skills; Adult Education), which are required for both the Provisional and Professional level licenses, and
- Develop portfolios for submission to the state Review Panel to obtain the Professional level license.
Cohorts will be established in several different parts of the state depending on level of interest, and meet once a month for four hours with the support of a coach. Most cohorts will be scheduled to meet on the same Friday or Saturday of the month; for example, second Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The cohort model has proven successful because busy practitioners plan ahead to set aside four hours for dedicated work with onsite guidance and customized support from our expert, longtime coaches.
Cohorts are being planned based on input from practitioners who have expressed an interest in pursuing the ABE License. If you are interested in attending one of these cohorts or for more information, please contact alexandra_papagno@worlded.org.
