The ESOL C&I PD Center webpage underwent a major reorganization this summer to make locating resources much easier. Resources are now grouped into 13 categories, each with a chart full of updated, relevant items with descriptions and links. Categories include TESOL Research, Second Language Acquisition Principles, Components of Language, Instructional Videos, Curriculum and Instruction (which includes templates and sample units and lesson plans), Intercultural Awareness, Learning Differences, Standards, and more!

At the top of the ESOL resources section on the webpage, you will find the MA English Language Proficiency Standards (MA ELPS) document and overview videos. Many of you accessed these videos via Blackboard last spring. This fall we have made them available to you directly on our website, so you just need to click on the link and you’re there! Be sure to view the overview videos to see how the MA ELPS came to be, how they are laid out, and how to integrate them into your instruction.

Finally, to distill the plethora of educational standards that have been developed in recent years, we have created a brief video describing the progression of content and professional standards leading up to the MA ELPS and the MA ABE Professional Standards for ESOL.

There is a lot to see on the ESOL webpage.  Be sure to check it out!
