We (Sandy Goodman and Luanne Teller) are thrilled to be collaborating to co-direct the new SABES Program Support PD Center. Our goal is to work in creative and responsive ways to provide professional development according to our system’s High Quality Professional Development (HQPD) Standards. The HQPD Standards and our center’s work are designed to build our collective capacity to maximize opportunities for the adult learners we serve.

Sandy is directing the Program Support PD Center priority areas of Advising, Career Pathways, Cultural Competence, and ADA Resources and Training, and Luanne directs the priority areas for Program Management and Educational Leadership, Digital Literacy, and Professional Licensure Support.

Please be sure to regularly visit our Program Support PD Center home page, as well as the individual pages for each priority, where you’ll find updates about our work and links to our Calendar of Events.

We look forward to working with you to learn about and respond to your Program Support PD needs. We hope you’ll reach out to us at any time with questions, suggestions, or requests for assistance. You can contact us at Sandy_Goodman@worlded.org and Luanne_Teller@worlded.org

"Leading for Equity Across Sectors and WIOA Partners"

Dr. Johan Uvin

Offered by the SABES Program Support PD Center: Program Management and Educational Leadership, at World Education, Boston, Mass.

We are pleased and fortunate to welcome Dr. Johan Uvin, president of the Institute for Educational Leadership and former Assistant Secretary for the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education.

Dr. Uvin will present a three-hour workshop that focuses on cross-sector leadership, including the challenges and benefits of leading with WIOA and other core partners, what competencies such leadership requires, and how cross-sector leaders use collaborative approaches and structures to address inequities in resources, access, and outcomes. Participants will learn about and practice using frameworks and tools, and will make commitments for specific next steps they will take to address an equity challenge they have identified.

Final plans are being made now, so look for this event to be posted to the SABES Calendar soon. Please contact Luanne Teller (Luanne_Teller@worlded.org) if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there.
