Description

This Open House is intended to support you in developing instructional units as part of an overall ABE math curriculum. We will encourage you to use Wiggins and McTighe's Understanding by Design (UbD) model to develop contextualized instructional units based on the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education. You are encouraged to bring program teams, including teachers and directors. We expect you to bring your own draft scope and sequences from which instructional units will be drafted.

Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Use the CCR Standards in designing units of instruction.
Evaluate lessons vis-à-vis the CCR Standards, and tweak them as necessary to align with the Standards.
