Katie Gomes Lyons is the Family Literacy and Curriculum Coordinator at the Worcester Adult Learning Center.  She graduated from Worcester State University with a B.A. in Elementary Education and Psychology.  She has been an elementary school teacher for ten years.  She loves to teach using technology, hands-on activities and differentiated instruction in her classroom.  Integrating technology in the classroom is a big focus for her to help prepare students to become career and college ready.  Since becoming a mother, she has shifted her career to the Worcester Adult Learning Center.  She started as an ESOL I and IV teacher.  With her experience in the elementary schools and new work with the parents in her class, she participated in developing the Family Literacy program at the Learning Center.  She is very excited about being able to help bring literacy and technology into the homes of the families of the Worcester Public Schools.
