Dr. Amy Trawick provides national consulting and training services in the area of adult literacy education. She has facilitated standards development in a variety of states and has worked with national projects such as STAR, Equipped for the Future, Standards in Action, and the Adult Education Great Cities Summit.
Her published articles and curricula address the areas of adult reading instruction, standards-based adult literacy education, contextualized instruction, brain-based teaching, and developmental education.
In 2008, Amy was the recipient of the National Reading Conference's J. Michael Parker Award for contributions to adult literacy research. She is the former director of the Higher Education Graduate Program at Appalachian State University.
