The Adult Learners’ Reported Use of Mathematics in their Current and Future Lives report is the result of a mini-research project carried out by Sally Waldron and Lynda Ginsburg for the SABES Center for Mathematics and Adult Numeracy C & I PD Center in 2021. The study surveyed 44 MA adult education students to learn how they used mathematics in their previous and current jobs and in their everyday lives. Students were also asked how they might use math for their future endeavors. The purpose of this exploratory study was to inform the professional development and curriculum and materials development provided by the SABES Math PD Center to help teachers learn the best ways to support adults learning math.
