With our first-class ELA coaches, you can extend your professional development experience, dig deeper into a topic, receive personalized help and support, or work with colleagues in a facilitated small group at or near your program.

Critical Friends facilitators support groups of teachers over several meetings to analyze assignments and resulting student work in relationship to the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education (CCRSAE).

“We enjoyed assisting each other in strengthening activities as we deepened our bond . . .The Critical Friends process encourages us to be both student and teacher, which leads to more effective and engaging activities.”

EBRI Coaches provide PD support to help you implement EBRI into classroom practice.

EGE Coaches support teachers as they choose professional goals based on the ELA Proficiency Guide to the MA Professional Standards for Teachers of Adult Education, select appropriate PD and learning opportunities, and put ideas into practice. Support can include observation and mentoring.

Text Sets are curated collections of resources and suggested activities for students to build knowledge and vocabulary about a specific topic, sequenced to create a coherent and gradual learning process in which students complete readings and tasks with increasing independence. Text Set Coaches support you in using and creating text sets appropriate for your adult students. Text Set coaching is most effective when it supplements participation in Text Set PD.

Writing Coaches provide support for implementing evidence-based writing instruction. Writing coaching is most effective when it supplements participation in Writing PD.

  • Set attainable goals, and follow up on progress as programs work toward goals
  • Extend knowledge about standards-based curriculum development and design
  • Address specific topics of concern
  • Provide ongoing support as needed

"We very much appreciate the support you have given to us in helping us create/ revise our scope and sequence documents, and inevitably our instruction, to be the best it can be.”
