Overview

This workshop will introduce programmatic efforts for going beyond the basics with one’s Planning and Evaluation Team (PET) to achieve organizational and student goals.

Target Audience:  While this workshop is open to anyone interested in learning more about workplace education partnerships, it is specifically geared to those who have begun the implementation phase of an ESE Workplace Education grant.

Description

In addition to addressing the overall functions of a PET, such as on-going recruitment and trouble-shooting, we will also discuss strategies for  engaging your PET in ongoing programming. These include: generating ideas for student projects; designing surveys and  evaluation forms to inform curriculum and document student progress; creating opportunities for organization-wide learning; and planning meaningful year-end celebrations that bridge cultural connections and affirm students’ efforts and accomplishments.

Participants will be invited to participate in a Virtual Community of Practice (VCoP) following the session to discuss ongoing questions and the implementation of PET engagement strategies.

    Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Gather input from PET members to inform the design of survey and evaluation documents
  • Describe three strategies for involving the PET in building student employee skills
  • Identify a PET engagement strategy and next step in the process of implementation.
