How do you use the miraculously tiny computer in your pocket? Do you keep a shopping list in Evernote or schedule meetings on your calendar? Maybe you photograph important notices or use the voice memo to remind yourself about Aunt Sally's birthday party next Sunday. Email, texting, Google Apps, Voxer, WhatsApp, Quizlet...the possibilities are endless.

By unlocking the full potential of a smartphone, students can become part of the tech-savvy 21st century workforce. This self-paced, lightly facilitated course will help you develop strategies for using smartphones and apps in your classroom.

This course is two weeks. Estimated completion time is six hours for beginners and four hours for those with intermediate experience.

Access to a smartphone is required, mastery is not.

We will start with the basics, including assessing your students' technology literacy, increasing your own mastery and comfort level with your smartphone, and creating a classroom phone usage policy. Next, we will work on accessing email via the phone and deal with common obstacles (forgotten passwords, anyone?). During the course, we will be addressing the following CCR Standards:
