Attend this session to learn how to teach writing skills using a consistent process that can be applied to individual paragraphs, multi-paragraph compositions, and essays. This session will be led by the associate director of the Landmark School Outreach Program.

In this session, you will learn a five-step, sequential model for teaching writing skills that integrates modeling and metacognition into every step. You can apply this process to paragraph, multi-paragraph, and essay writing assignments across all subject areas.
Beyond introducing the expository writing process, we will explore oral rehearsal techniques that support writing and examine how metacognition fosters independent, resilient writers. Participants will receive classroom materials to help their students frame their paragraphs and essays.
Participants will receive two PD hours in LACES upon completion of this session.
