Instructional Leaders: Supporting Teachers with the ELA Proficiency Guide - November (Self-Paced Modules) 

This new, self-paced course enables ABE instructional leaders to utilize a key resource, the ELA Proficiency Guide, to enhance English Language Arts (ELA) instruction in their programs. Along with the ABE Professional Standards, the ELA Proficiency Guide holds up a vision for effective instruction in ABE, and in this micro-course, you will explore supplemental tools, resources, and PD activities to help guide teachers in using ideas from these documents to shape their own professional practice.

Learn how to assess a student's writing abilities to inform instruction and how to help students revise their writing in a productive, skills-based manner. This session will be led by the associate director of the Landmark School Outreach Program.

Opening Digital Doors: Developing Adult Learners' Digital Literacy Through Speaking and Listening Tasks

In our digital age, adults are expected to listen to, respond to and create audio and video content as well as participate and collaborate in online meetings and conversations. This session provides a variety of edtech routines that expand the context of speaking and listening instruction by integrating authentic digital workplace, community, and academic tasks into language development lessons.
