Overview

As educators, we know that there is never enough time in the school year to search for and review new technology. The end of the school year is upon us, with only two months left before the summer break. If you have not already had the opportunity to explore an Atomic Learning Tech Tutorial, this is your last chance for the FY18 school year.

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Both instructional and non-instructional program staff who are seeking technological tools to impact student learning, further encourage digital literacy integration, and improve overall program operations.
Description

The fourth quarter Atomic Learning tutorials are:

  1. Universal Design for Learning (UDL): (1 PD hour) In this overview of UDL, we will look at optimizing the learner's motivation to learn, options for the representation of new material, and options for student to express what they have learned. 
       
  2. Chrome Extensions for the Classroom: (1 PD hour) This fast-paced, online course introduces users to Google Chrome Extensions and suggested a number of extensions that will increase productivity and/or help solve common problems in everyday web browsing.
       
  3. Helping Students with Learning Disabilities Succeed in the Classroom: (1 PD hour) This module provides an overview of disabilities that teachers often encounter in their students, such as ADD/ADHD, memory loss, and struggles with planning and time management
      
  4.  Google Classroom Essentials: (1.5 PD hours) This modules will take you from step one of creating a Google classroom, to pro-level tips of getting the most effective use. 

These tutorials run from April 1 to May 31, 2018. There will be a follow-up webinar on June 11, 2018 @ 1:00 p.m.

You will receive a separate email from Joanne Harrington at Quinsigamond Community College with instructions on how to access your chosen course. If you do not already have an account on Blackboard, please allow five days for your account to be created.
