Overview

This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are selected based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted two weeks before the meeting. Snow date is December 16, 2019.

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Both new and experienced advisors. Instructors who play a role in education and career planning are also welcome to attend to share and learn about best practices and resources
Description

You are invited to join ABE and ESOL advisors from across the Western Massachusetts region for a sharing and learning conversation. A specific portion of the meeting will be dedicated to discussion regarding supporting students as they plan for and transition from ABE and ESOL programs to post-secondary education. The coordinator for the Massachusetts Adult Literacy Hotline, Ruby Reyes, will be joining the group to share information and materials related to the hotline services. In addition, time will be allotted for open conversation with the purpose of sharing and learning from other advisors in the field. Participants are encouraged to bring any advising/lesson materials regarding post-secondary planning and transition, as well as program flyers, to share with the group.
