Audience

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Volunteer Coordinators in adult education programs who work with volunteers or those who are interested in adding a volunteer component to their adult education program
  • We welcome those working in volunteer-only programs and those who integrate volunteers into programs with classes
Description

This statewide Summit provides an opportunity for adult education program Volunteer Coordinators to come together and network, share materials, and gain new insights into the work of volunteer management.

During the Summit, you will have the opportunity to delve into specific topics of interest by visiting stations set up to focus on volunteer training, the use of volunteers in non-instructional roles, volunteer recognition, methods for staying in touch with volunteers (e.g., newsletters, social media), best practices, “aha” moments of the past year, and more.

In addition, there will be:

  • A brief presentation and group discussion on current trends in Volunteer Management.
  • An opportunity for you to provide input for a Volunteer Coordinator Guide that SABES is developing.
  • Resource sharing.

For the resource sharing, we request that you bring 15 copies of items you wish to share (training materials, newsletters, schedules, etc.) that are relevant to issues of volunteer management. If you would like us to print copies for you, please send them to Luanne_teller@worlded.org by May 1.

If you have questions about the Summit, please contact Michele Sedor (msedor@yahoo.com).
