Overview

This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are selected based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted two weeks before the meeting.

While this sharing group has been primarily for those in a specific region, now that all meetings are online, some meetings (like this one) are open to all. Please plan to join four meetings a year, regardless of which region you join, in order to make room for all.

    Audience

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Both new and experienced advisors. Instructors who play a role in education and career planning are also welcome to attend to share and learn about best practices and resources.
Description

You are invited to join Massachusetts ABE and ESOL advisors from across the state as we share and learn from each other with regards to continuing to provide high-quality advising services for adult learners in a virtual format. Advisors will have the opportunity to discuss and support each other with resources and solutions, in both large and small break-out groups, to challenges that programs and students are experiencing: student intake and assessment, attendance and engagement, career exploration and planning, navigating barriers, and the many others. There will also be time allotted for ABE and ESOL program specific break-out rooms for advisors to connect with other advisors in similar capacities across the state.

We will be meeting via Zoom, and Ruzica Banovic will send you information and the link for joining online a few days prior to the meeting.
