This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are selected based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted two weeks before the meeting.
While this sharing group has been primarily for those in a specific region, now that all meetings are online, some meetings (like this one) are open to all. Please plan to join four meetings a year, regardless of which region you join, in order to make room for all.
- Both new and experienced advisors. Instructors who play a role in education and career planning are also welcome to attend to share and learn about best practices and resources.
This professional development activity/course is designed for:
You are invited to join ABE and ESOL advisors from across the South Shore Region of Massachusetts for the first sharing and learning conversation of the fiscal year via Zoom. The focus of this meeting would be to share concepts and resources that proved beneficial during this unprecedented stage of adult education and to discuss ways of providing effective virtual advising. We are also hoping to get a brief update from Kathy Folan of Mass Hire. Then as always there will be open conversation with the purpose of sharing and learning from advisors in the field regarding a wide range of advising tasks and challenges. Participants are encouraged to bring postable resources and questions you’d like to share with the group. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with potential discussion topics that interest you so I can prepare a general questionnaire before the meeting.
We will be meeting via Zoom, and Ruzica Banovic will send you information and the link for joining online a few days prior to the meeting.
