Description

In this session, participants will experience virtual reading and writing tasks that foster learner voice and choice, identify formative assessment routines that promote a growth mindset, and share strategies learned over the last year. The facilitator will also demonstrate how continuing to integrate scaffolds, higher-order thinking, academic language, and cooperative learning in our teaching ensures that we bring our high-leverage practices into the Zoom classroom.

    Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Use Zoom features to increase learner engagement in online instruction
  • Transfer sustaining and high-leverage practices for reading and writing instruction to the virtual learning environment
  • Identify formative assessment routines that help learners keep track of their progress during the lesson
