Overview

Are you eager to understand new ways to support the volunteers in your program? This virtual sharing and learning group, facilitated by Michele Sedor, is designed for new and experienced volunteer coordinators and others in adult education programs who work with volunteers. This session will focus on volunteer training.

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Adult education program staff who have a volunteer component in their programs
  • Adult education program staff who are interested in incorprating the use of volunteers in their work
Description

During this session, we will discuss various components of an effective volunteer training. While the focus is on pre-service training, there will also be time to discuss in-service volunteer development and training.

Please bring resources related to these topics along with your questions. We will begin by discussing training in general and then go into breakout rooms, divided by ESOL and ABE, so you can discuss your specific trainings more in-depth.
