Description

Participation in this 3-session training fulfills the requirement by The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) that all advising staff in in an ESE-funded ABE program complete the SABES Foundations for New Staff: Art of Advising within the first 12 months of employment.

Newly hired advisors do not need to take this course if they were previously employed at an ESE-funded ABE program and already possess a Certificate of Completion from the Foundation's course or from the New Staff Orientation.

The pre-requisite to this training for new staff is the online course "Foundations for New Staff: Overview of the ABE Field”, an online, asynchronous (self-paced) course, estimated to take five hours (but varies for each person).
To register for Foundations for New Staff: Overview (online pre-requisite only) contact:
Joanne Harrington, 508-751-7928 or jharrington@qcc.mass.edu. It may take QCC up to 5 days to fulfill your registration request, so leave yourself time to complete the course.

New advisors should complete the online Foundations for New Staff course before the first session of Art of Advising on May 5th.
