Overview

This new offering will train practitioners to administer and score the CLAS-E Interview and Locator test, administer and score the CLAS-E Reading test (upon completion of an open book test), and administer (but not score) the two CLAS-E Writing components. 

To become certified to ADMINISTER AND SCORE the expository writing component of the CLAS-E Writing test, you MUST ATTEND this training AND the CLAS-E Writing Scoring offering (scheduled 1/30/17), AND complete the scoring activity.

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • ACLS-funded practitioners who need to be trained as TABE CLAS-E test administrators for the Reading or Writing test. Those trained can also score the CLAS-E Reading test but not the CLAS-E Writing test. This offering is novice level.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the basic elements and importance of standardized testing
    Summarize MA ESE’s policies and procedures regarding the CLAS-E assessment
    Administer, score, and interpret the CLAS-E Locator to determine the correct CLAS-E Reading or Writing test level to give a student
    Describe the purpose and components of the TABE CLAS-E Reading and Writing assessments
    Administer, score, and interpret the TABE CLAS-E Reading test
    Administer the two components of the TABE CLAS-E Writing assessment
