US Department of Education
Overview

Created in response to requests for more customized support for educators who work in corrections settings, these meetings provide opportunities for teachers and others to share the corrections-specific and corrections-accessible digital literacy tools, resources, and strategies that have been found to be effective.

In this meeting, David Case from the Hampshire House of Corrections will discuss his facility’s Tablet Tuesdays, including:

  • How they came up with this approach
  • Ways students have utilized the tablets to help meet their goals
  • How David provides opportunities for students to present how they utilize the tablets to other students

This is a creative way to effectively and realistically implement the digital literacy-related Massachusetts Indicators of Program Quality (IPQs) in correctional settings.

We will save time for questions and sharing about any topic or issue.

If you work in a correctional facility and would like to be included on the Digital Literacy Sharing Group for Corrections mailing list or want to join meetings, please fill out this brief form to let us know what supports would be helpful to your practice.
