Overview

Implementing any form of remote classes is both rewarding and challenging. Successful implementation requires thoughtful planning and implementation by program leaders, instructors, and other staff members, as well as successful collaboration. Please join us to:

  • Share practices that are working well
  • Ask the group to help brainstorm ways to strengthen a practice that needs some reworking
  • Engage in idea-sharing about new tools or practices
  • Suggest topics for the group to discuss

This group is open to staff in any role with any level of experience who have a hand in planning or implementing remote learning. The purpose of this group is to address the needs and interests of the members, so you, along with the other participants, will select the topics. Topics might include:

  • Program design and implementation
  • Tools and resources for instruction or advising
  • Building relationships and community remotely
  • Successful planning for distance, hybrid, and blended models

To help prepare for this meeting, please let the group know your questions and the topics you’re interested in discussing and post to our discussion board by January 19.

    Audience

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Program directors, coordinators, teachers, advisors, and anyone at any level of experience involved in remote education planning, instruction, or support in partially or fully remote classes
Description

Remote Learning Sharing and Learning Group meetings are held quarterly: in FY24, meetings will be held in October, January, and April. Participation in all meetings is encouraged but not required. In each meeting we address topics that are relevant to your work at the moment and what’s happening in your program. There are questions but no formal agenda. Please bring your burning questions, your hot topics, and your shining successes to share with the group!

We will use a discussion board to continue our collaboration and sharing outside of the meetings.

This meeting is statewide, and anyone who works in fully or partially remote education is welcome to attend, regardless of role or title.
