Overview

This training is designed for individuals in ACLS funded programs who intend to become BEST Plus test administrators. BEST Plus is administered individually in a face-to-face oral interview designed to assess the English language proficiency of adult English language learners. Participants must arrive on time and attend the entire session.

This session is the 1st of 3 steps in becoming a Best Plus Administrator

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • 1. Understand the basics of standardized assessment
    2. Recognize the importance of assessing students' language abilities
    3. Administer and score the Best Plus computer-adaptive oral interview
    4. Run the Best Plus Test Administration Program
    5. Interpret Best Plus scores
Prerequisites

An English fluency level of SPL 9 or above

 Experience and comfort interacting with nonnative English speakers
