Overview

Being able to perform tasks common to a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Moodle or Blackboard is essential for adult education students looking to enter higher education and workplace training courses.  Students need to be proficient in the types of activities and tasks common to a LMS, such as quizzes, discussion boards, online journals, attaching assignments, and more.  Edmodo is an easy-to-use LMS where adult education professionals can create a closed class page to put up content, assignments and assessments.  The site's look and feel, similar to Facebook, means most students can become familiar with the site's functions very quickly.  For the teacher, using Edmodo means having a central place where students, even those "stop outs" who haven't been to class for a while, can follow what is happening in class.  In this workshop, participants will become familiar with Edmodo's essential features and use them to create a class page and content that they can use with their learners.
Follow-up webinar dates are 2/3 and 2/10/16.
