    Audience

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Teachers and coordinators in workplace education programs
Description

This meeting will be divided into two facilitated sharing and learning topics: 1) contextualized instruction using authentic workplace materials, and (2) evaluating the impact of workplace education.

You are encouraged to bring examples from your own workplace education classrooms, such as a lesson plan you’re especially proud of or a workplace document, scenario, or skill suggested by your Planning and Evaluation Team (PET) around which you want to design a lesson.

  1.  Kathleen O’Connell from World Education will provide guiding questions for small groups to share ideas for developing contextualized lessons using authentic materials.
  2.  Luanne Teller from World Education will share the process that World Education used to evaluate the impact of the workplace education program at the Seaport Hotel, including how employees and the PET were engaged in this process. She will also share some of the initial findings and the beneficial ways in which they have been used.
