PSPD offers individual and program-based coaching for staff in any role looking to grow and strengthen their practice in any of our key priority areas, which include educational leadership and program management, advising, career pathways, digital literacy, and ADA coordination. We also offer individual coaching and support for those looking to acquire a professional ABE license. If interested, please submit a Contact Us request.

Different times work best for busy adult educators to attend PD. Did you know you can access PD when it’s most convenient for you? Visit our online asynchronous courses, including series that focus on Digital Literacy and Advising. You can find these courses on the Program Support's On-Demand PD Google Site, which offers more than 30 sessions organized according to seven strands.

Art of Advising (Online Blended)

Art of Advising introduces practical tools, strategies, and approaches for staff whose primary responsibility is advising. Content and activities focus on effective practices aligned with Indicator of Program Quality #7 (IPQ7). IPQ7 addresses the equitable delivery of advising and support services to help students identify and make progress towards educational and career goals. While this offering is geared towards staff who are new to the advisor role, it can also benefit experienced advisors seeking to refresh their knowledge and skills.

Foundations for New Staff (Self-Paced Modules)

No matter what your role or title, if you work in the field of adult education, you are part of a national network of professionals who are working together to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. You play a critical role in this mission, so this course introduces and connects you to the systems and people that drive this work. The Foundations for New Staff (FNS) asynchronous online course comprises five modules that together will provide you with that orientation, including an overview of the field, an overview of professional development opportunities, effective teaching and advising, and program and practitioner accountability.
