It creates opportunities for learners to develop the language that demonstrates their critical thinking. Come explore ways to use problem-based learning with learners at any proficiency level. You will leave with an array of strategies to promote language development and essential skills.

Cultivating an Equitable Teaching and Learning Environment: Moving to Action
This two-part workshop focuses on equity as it pertains to the adult education classroom. With guidance and facilitation by Dr. Liza Talusan, Associate Instructor at UMass Boston who teaches graduate courses on leadership, equity, and justice, we will build knowledge, refine definitions, explore tools, examine our existing classroom practices, policies, and curricula, and develop action steps to create a more equitable learning environment.

Navigating twenty-first century life seems to involve one complex project after another! Find out how to transfer this reality to the adult education classroom via meaningful classroom projects. These projects not only draw on and develop an array of language and literacy skills, but also enhance "soft" employability skills such as critical thinking, effective communication, ability to collaborate, and self-management.

Building English Learners' Digital Literacy Through Project-Based Learning
In this two-session workshop, ESOL teachers will learn how to integrate digital literacy skills and technology tools into project-based learning activities that draw on and develop an array of language and literacy skills while providing opportunities for English learners to use technology to find, evaluate, organize, create, and communicate information.
